Though initially founded to be simply a game development studio, Playware is now involved in a variety of projects that cannot strictly be categorized as games but rather activities and products in the periphery of gaming such as mixed-media and multi-modal media work often in the education and simulation and training space.
A heavy component of our efforts today are towards emerging technologies, methodologies and research on the trends of the aforementioned in the areas of serious gaming, education, and mixed multi-modal media design and usage.

Job Title: Sr Flex Developer

Skillset(s): Flex, Flash, AS3, OOP, AIR, DB, Interaction Design

Job Description:

  • You will be leading the development effort for a major learning management system. This project is all about innovation.
  • You will be brainstorming with creative professionals from a variety of fields and backgrounds and will be responsible for turning concepts into concrete deliverables.

Requirements:

  • 2 years of industry experience with Flex, Flash and ActionScript 2.0/3.0
  • OOP knowledge and experience
  • Experience developing AIR Applications
  • Experience querying, maintaining and developing databases
  • Focus on User Centered/ Interaction Design
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of & experience using Flex programming frameworks (Carnigorm etc )
  • Knowledge of SCORM, IMS and other eLearning frameworks and standards
  • Knowledge of Learning Managements systems or Pedagogy
  • Knowledge of computer game design and gameplay mechanics
  • An eye for detail and good design ethic
  • Candidates must be resident in Singapore and able to start work in May 2009.
